Any person you meet will need money to take care of their old mother, father, children, buffalos or even elephants.

First thing is to find a Thai lady or boy half your age, give them all your money and promise them to buy them a house and adopt all their bastards from previous tricks. Then the Thai immigration will see thru it that you are an honorable man and may give you a retirement visa which need to be renewal every year with more and more money.

It is so silly to be asking FB for info on how to get Thai tourist visa when 5 millions people visited the country last year and you will get 5 millions advices. Why don't you pick up the phone and call Thai Consulate or Embassy in your town and get the correct information right from the horse's mouth? Wouldn't that be a more logical way to go?

Well that's really depends on which part of town right? BKK is a huge city and in order to get around you need to live near BTS or MRT Mass transit stations. Those areas the rent will be higher. Of course you can find cheap rent but for foreigner I am sure you want to be in the heart of the action and not in the far suburbs.

Depends....2000 Bahts/mo= below poverty in Thai. $2000/mo=bearly get by in up country in Thailand but in BKK that is just bearly enough to pay for a decent apartment.
