Thank you all for your advice. It was mentioned that the marriage visa could be applied for from overseas, anyone have experience of doing this?

I was married in Thailand so no issue with translation etc. However it would seem then that when I start the process of opening the bank account I then have to wait 2 months while residing in Thailand? If i understand correctly the O visa I get, prior to getting the marriage visa, is a single entry only? Thanks for all the comments
