If you get an STV visa you can't change it to any other kind of visa in country. If you want to do this, you're better off getting a standard tourist visa

there is no way they are going to drop quarantine by April, if that’s what you’re waiting for. Until they start vaccinations of vulnerable (May) I don’t think things will change. Except maybe reducing quarantine for low risk countries to 10 days
