FOR STV they require your booking for after your quarantine. Are people actually booking and paying for full 3 months of a hotel or something? What are they accepting? Sorry if it been asked 100 times. Appreciate the info.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the requirements for the Special Tourist Visa (STV) in Thailand, specifically regarding hotel bookings for the duration after quarantine. Comments indicate that travelers are not necessarily required to pay for a full three months upfront; some suggest simply providing an address, while others mention that booking services like Agoda offer free cancellations.

I just checked Agoda. They have free cancellations up until the day before arrival. So no risk booking that.
to book any hotel for stv basically you need to contact the hotel. As none of they websites issue a hotel reservation letter with the tax id of the hotel.
there’s an issue though. You can’t book through any of the websites because they cut off at 28 days. Also the embassy states it must be “fully paid”. The websites don’t fully pay , they just hold your card until you get there and then you pay or charge your card when arrived.

I sent the embassy an email about that today. Waiting to hear back.
Yeah idk any sane person who would book a hotel for 6 months. We'll see if they get back to me. I assume it's like most other requirements in Thailand though, just some random rule some moron wrote down thats not actually a rule.
