TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses various insurance options with COVID coverage for expats from the UK planning to travel to Thailand. Key recommendations include choosing insurance from Thai companies or policies that specifically cater to international needs, such as AXA (especially through their Thai offices) and Revolut, which offers insurance as part of its premium account package. Users highlight the importance of ensuring coverage is valid during potential lockdowns and share experiences with insurers like Tipinsure and Luma, which provide instant insurance certificates suitable for Thailand. Brokers such as Arawan Namak are also mentioned for personalized assistance.

Go Walkabout. Really good, really cheap and even provide a document specifically for Thailand that mentions everything in Baht and USD just to be safe.

Revolut, comes with the premium accounts about £120 or so a year for the account the insurance is part of the package. Just need to print off the policy main page and page 42 which shows covid cover up to £10 m. Used it to arrive yesterday no issues at all

that’s great. Such bad advice here about getting Thai insurance. Many of them are annual payment only and only cover Thailand!

cannot say for certain but when i arrived they only checked the front page. I had page 42 which specified the covid cover but they never looked at it. The Embassy in London accepted it for the COE obviously

Did you have a return flight? If so was it 90 days or less from departure? It's a minor check at airport because they presume, if you have CoE that that has been checked during that process.

Axa insurance company seems to be the standard. But as
@Steve ********
said, get it from a Thai office axa..co.th. Plus, the UK originated policy has "too much" coverage, so it costs more.

many people in this group ( like me) do not spend their entire lives/12 months of the year in Thailand. I was merely pointing out that if you don’t live full time in Thailand, then it might be a good idea to buy insurance that is ALSO valid outside Thailand. Get over yourself

it’s not. ‘Best COVID cover’. The best cover is not to take an insurance that can only be used in Thailand. Unless you plan to stay in Thailand for the duration of the cover.

Your best getting a thai company

If we go into a full lockdown again before you travel then any Uk insurance policy would be void
