Since when does immigration publish special entry requirements for its various visas? You said it yourself, extension rules are pretty clear. These are their expectations. Why not ask immigration directly instead of making assumptions about how immigration officers should do their jobs? You're a legit nomad, aren't you? So there's nothing to be afraid of. Just have your documents ready, just in case.
I got checked on another type of visa (not a student visa, no red flag, no overstay). I showed the requested docs from my phone and then got granted entry. All that to say, whatever the visa you hold, it is possible to get checked even though it is not common.
Anonymous participant 535 That's exactly what we need before it is too late... Genuine holders may, after some time, understand how things work in Thailand.
One person who replied here said he applied in Australia and the name doesn't sound like he's from one of these countries; would be interesting to check with him. The other poster who got checked was from the US.
When you have some idiots sending you private messages just because you said something they didn’t like, you might reconsider. I wasn’t in favor of it at first, but I changed my mind. I'm just trying to help people (and particularly the ones who really qualify). Whether they dislike my anonymity doesn’t matter. They should start doing their own research and understanding the immigration system.
A lot of people still think it's impossible to get checked and keep assuming anonymous posters are liars, agents, or something else. Maybe you aren't, but that's not the case for everyone.
