I also work freelance. I provided a letter from my long term clients explicitly stating that I have authorization to perform services for them in Thailand as a remote worker, as well as examples of my work and a cover letter explaining everything. I was approved in Jakarta in less than 4 business days. I didn't need to provide invoices, just a 6 month bank statement with deposits and transfers highlighted so they could see I had regular income.
