 no Rands, you need 800 000 Baht each if your wife is under 50 you can just get one visa and she will be able to come in on that visa ( unless that has changed)

You will need just under 1 million Rand ( 453 000 each) if both over 50 years, if you are going to apply for the visa in SA you will need to have a medical and insurance. If you are going to apply in Thailand then you can only take the parrot once you have the visa because you can not enter as a tourist with the parrot.
