When record profits are to be made, climate change is hardly the first thing on peoples minds.

More people will die from poverty because of restrictions than all diseases ever combined.

Really I don't see this as very different from US people calling their country America but calling people from other countries Europeans, or calling SE-Asians Asians and getting surprised when they realise that Russians and Arabs are predominantly Asians too.

Dumb people are the ones who form descriptive languages. So this is a case in favour of language prescription. ;)

The earliest really foreign foreigners that regularly came to Thailand seem to have been the Franks.

The name stuck and now everyone who isn't from the region is French ;)

Thai people rarely know any linguistical history, so they are usually surprised about all of this.

Why is everyone acting like they know, when they don't know anything?

Cats can get infected you know, so there may be some new issues with that, judging by how hard it is for humans to travel in that part of the world these days.

I would never recommend travel while governments are panicking and people are acting hysterical.

Anything can happen, including getting shot for no reason.

This is what happens when people don't understand what futility means, which leads to desperation.

Not broadband, most likely DSL.
