TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the challenges of bringing a cat from the UK to Thailand, especially amid ongoing travel restrictions due to Covid-19. Various comments provide insights into the current quarantine requirements, the ease of transporting smaller pets, and the general process involved in relocating pets. Some suggest using an agent for smoother logistics, while others comment on the general state of animal welfare in Thailand and the risks of losing pets once they arrive.

Some airlines allow them as hand luggage on board.
All sorts of animals fly around the globe, all the time. When I was just out of school and didn't have the money for plane tickets, I worked as a groom for a German horse shipping company. The quarantine stations of airports are full of pets and other animals traveling. I don't know where in the US you are, but if your airline can't help, try Jet Pets in L.A. They ship everything, from horses, to ostriches to whales and dolphins. No kidding:-)
Too many cats here in Thailand already ... Collect a stray from your local Temple.

Put 1 cat in freezer - let stand 24-36 hours
Day of travel - place cat in suitcase
Go to airport as normal
If AND ONLY IF asked about the cat - tell them its your emotional support animal
Check baggage as normal
Check-in and board as normal
Upon arrival claim bag or not up to you.
Mission accomplished 1 cat arrived in Thailand.

Dear. Bob, i came to BKK last year September and brought my little dog. I used an agent called Yoss. He is very good, and helps you through the whole proces with care. He speaks English and his price is very reasonable. You can contact him on number +66 92-446-4956. Give him a call and he can help you I believe. I’m not sure about cats but dogs dont have to do quarantine in Thailand. Hope this will help you.
your welcome. He is a friendly, helpful, and reliable guy. He took my dog when I arrived at the airport from me and brought it to the pet hotel (he gave me proposals for a few, and my dog loved it there). He stayed there for my quarantine period and i needed 2 weeks to find my condo. I came from Malaysia and he arranged the needed procedures and documents there also for me. You can choose if you want him to do that or do it yourself. Not pushing to get money out of you. I took my dog as oversized luggage which is much cheaper then sending it by cargo.

Drug it, put it in your luggage. It will have a nice sleep on the flight.

Idk about coming into Thailand, but Qatar was very helpful when I left in August with 2 cats. They gave me all the numbers I needed to try to travel stress free

Next year so stay there

Why would you put a poor cat through a journey like that to then be in horrendously hot and humid conditions for however long you are there probably for you to end up leaving it there for ever..
Go to Woolwich arsanel station and put your cat on the ferry. Have faith in God and your cat will arrive in Thailand safely.

US citizen can travel to Thailand now?

Somebody said but I didn’t believe that’s it would cost up to 40,000 US dollars

At least you are allowed out, it's currently illegal to travel out of UK for a holiday, with substantial fines, if they even let us leave, which might be unlikely

30,000 to 100,000 THB for hotel then all other expenses. If you want to go best to use a travel agent in your country. I’m finally going home to family. It took patients, time & money. If you love Thailand it’s worth it 555
You need to go to the vets and get a pet passport vaccinations etc the can needs to be in a carrier and the cost is the weight of the cat plus carrier . The airline will class it as excess baggage
Bob, as always there’s plenty of unhelpful people on here... 🤣
anyway it’s a very straight forward process, I know plenty that have done it recently, and it’s not expensive.
ASQ hotels are not allowed pets but there’s many pet hotels where you can leave your pets whilst you’re in quarantine, there’s also a company that will arrange your pet permit and everything else, contact Amm at Sky Trade Services, link below, like I say it’s really easy. Good luck

I didn't know there were currently any restrictions for bringing in cats compared to normal times. Anyway, to answer your question I assume normality will resume when it does for us humans with respect to travel and everything else. Perhaps end of the year? Or early 2022? Something like that...

When you get to Pattaya Thailand I'll get you a cat in less than 5mins, plenty to choose from
I was talking about cat's, not humans, no need to be disrespectful, but all good, I suppose most farangs should stay home, except the ones I know of spend money and follow Thai law respect the royal family and above all else leave there baggage allowance home, meaning show face to those who they meet . Of course if I've disrespected you with my reply I am sorry it was not my intent.🤘
, sorry, it was either not the meaning to be disrespectful. But living here for a lot of years learned me that some people without animals adopt one here. And people who bring their beloved pets in the country take good care of them and sometimes adopt also. A lot of street cats or dogs are to wild to go for adoption!

All I know is it's expensive but pets are family good luck
If your cat is small enough to fit under the chair in front of you it is relatively cheap and easy, mostly vaccinations and a health check in the uk. If it is a snub-nosed breed, it can be a lot more difficult but still likely doable. I took my snub nosed dog last month and had a local company bring her straight home while I went into the ASQ.
Every day is a gift for me at 72 also based on where I've been...- laugh a lot - everything else in moderation. Be well.

I think you lack what is called understanding.
There are people who have pets - from mouse to horses - and when they move, they move with her pet/s - it's like having children, they don't leave them behind either.
This feeling about an animal is apparently alien to you.
These animals live in the house, you go for a walk with the dogs and they are by no means a burden for nature.
if that was an attempt at comedy, don't quit your day job

A dog from America was not hard. Get with the airline and they will explain it, they are the only real enforcers. When I landed in Chiang Mai with a dog, customs just wanted to know the value of the dog so they could tax me. They didn’t check any paperwork.

Will your cat refuse to wear a mask in 7-Eleven or be compliant? This is the issue.
Cats can get infected you know, so there may be some new issues with that, judging by how hard it is for humans to travel in that part of the world these days.

Why is everyone acting like they know, when they don't know anything?
Same same same question I’ve been asking every single day but minus the cat tho.

And if you finally get it to Thailand with the enormous cost and time. You have it for less that a week and somebody opens the door or window , and it's gone forever.
Gary ************
i understand how much u love the cat but I don’t think it’s best interest is going to Thailand..
bless you Jon they care very deeply your words don’t hurt me, hope you have a lovely weekend. It’s called a sense of humour you should really try it sometime dude 🙂

My flight in march to thailand has been cancelled. I've rebooted for nov but visas and quaranteen are the problem
People have brought pets with them recently, but they cannot stay in quarantine with then. Someone mentioned the process a couple of weeks ago in one of the threads.
