He talks about 60 day visa.

It can be extended any time, also after 1 day you arrive in Thailand.

Don't get confused with report on extension of stay, that can be done 14 days before till 7 days after the expiring date

Im pretty sure that no Immigration office charges overstay fine in this specific case. But the passport is stamped 1 day overstay, that is always better to avoid, that's why the best advice is to extend the visa today.

No!!!!

You could be stamped 1 day overstay but not fined 500 baht because Immigration is closed on sunday.

But better to go today.

Fill the form and bring 1,900 baht, one photo, copy of passport (frontpage, last stamp, departure card)

In Penang you will have no problem to get 3 tourist visa in a row.

Don't forget that, before 60 day stamp is expiring, you can get a 30 day extension at Samui Immigration (monday-friday 8.30-12.00; 13.00-16.30) paying 1,900 baht.

Visa exempt entries by air are unlimited.
