did you get the answer about the flight? Seems to be comments. Getting a long term visa makes all the difference to your post. My last 1 way ticket was because I was switching to a non b, so if questioned that would have been my reply.

There are many that have forged documents to allow them to apply, these people might well get caught out further down the line if they raise suspicions and they cannot satisfy the IO upon entering (same for any visa), if you are genuine, have the correct ongoing paperwork to support your application, IE back statements, tax records, invoices, you shouldn't have any issues. ingore the BS, just apply for the DTV as you were planning.

AFAIK you can use the some of the 800k, and long as it's back within the required period to apply, I believe, 60 days either side of the visa.
