ok but I have no idea how that meets Thai visa requirements as I’m not American. The 2 week holiday is up to you but doesn’t help nor hinder the visa process

yes I assumed that when you said ‘ retire’ in Thailand rather than visit for x time

I assume you are over 50 in which case deciding where to live should not be beyond you No one else can tell you this

Read the requirements, as a starting point, and ensure you meet all of them

Then get an non O visa at home, go to Thailand, open bank account, deposit required funds at least two months before your visa expires, go to immigration and get an extension based on retirement

I don’t think so There have been posts about trying to do this but from memory none were successful

some embassies want 6 months statements but don’t need the balance to be 500K THB the whole time some do. Some want 3 months some want 1 month it all depends on where you apply

Best to check on details where you are going to apply

Best not to move countries but you can always email embassy and ask about progress Sometimes this helps speed things up
