update: if no hotel submitted your TM30 by the time you want an extension, you will not be allowed to submit TM7 to extend your visa (at least the TR/TR exempt) for 30 days - at least in Ayuttaya. The staff also said we would also save time if we had at least a copy of TM30 (we should have asked for it from hotels when they submit it)
