but you need to purchase insurance that meets their criteria (My insurance goes Jan 1 - Dec 31, so it does not) before applying and they’ve been unwilling to answer my question regarding income before application :-(.

Why would you buy from Verizon? Any discounted phone would be locked and couldn’t be used in Thailand. This is a sincere question, wondering what the advantage is.

me too. For now, it’s a shorter visit (technically Hoi An). I’m trying to figure out where in Da Nang I want to be.

yeah. I’m in Vietnam now trying to stay under 180 days. Such a shame…I’d honestly rather be back in Thailand, although this is not tortuous.

my issue is with supplying the information necessary for a tax filing. If I would still need to do that, I guess the LTR solves nothing for me :-(. Oh well.

Brandon’s is the most thorough advice. The real question is your visa. You said you’re coming for 6 months. If you’re coming on a proper visa (long-term, not tourist), you should not need an onward ticket and much of the chatter here is irrelevant :-). I hope you have a great trip!
