London seem to be pretty quick. I got mine in 5 days, it was approved on a Sunday around 11pm so it would seem there’s some automation on their end.

The documents I’ve been sent for approval are 18mb and can upload a maximum of 3mb of visa application. Is it ok to compress into a zip file do you know?

so basically I wasted 1900 extending my stay whilst I wait for my visa? Yay! At least I know for the future.

I was in a similar position a couple years back and just sent them an itinerary of what I planned to do alongside proof of funds and it was accepted.

Will my one-way flight to Thailand with onward travel to Cambodia be accepted by immigration and my airline?

Depends on the carrier. In my experience Gulf Air have never asked to see return/onward flight or visa, Lufthansa and Finnair have always asked. I have never been asked by Thai immigration for proof of onward travel.
