Each embassy and consulate has their own processing time and they have their estimated time published on their webpages. Some take months for approval, other 5 days. I advise you to check for the processing time at the embassy or consulate serving your area of US (if that is where you plan to apply).
I'm not sure you understand my comment. He had already applied and it is not a gamble to submit the requested additional information... It isn't like he have any choice! If he doesn't have any 6 month bank statement showing 500k for every month, he can still send 6 month statements showing a current balance of 500k. Either it will be approved or rejected... IF rejected and he really wants the DTV, he has to re-apply and if so, I suggested that he apply in an embassy that DO approve as long as the current balance is above 500k. He can use the search function in this group for that information.
who said no savings?! 🤔 Savings are just fine. It has to be a personal bank account (savings or checking) where you can access your money immediatly. That means no stocks or bitcoins etc and no a business account.
no, he was asked to submit this to his initial application. My suggestion was to do that. IF they would reject it, due to not having the money in his account long enough, I suggested to make a 2nd application elsewhere. What other choice does he have according to you? 🤔
I have seen your pointless comments (often with inaccurate information) so many times now, I just have to ask... Why, what's the point, does it give you some kind of satisfaction to mislead people or act like a clown? 🤔 I don't get it and I sincerly want to know!
The OP wrote "it's been 6 working days" and in this case it has only been 3... That is the only reason I mentioned those days (I did not refer to it as "processing time").
But to answer your question - yes, each embassy and consulate has their estimated processing time published on their websites.
In HCMC it is 5 working days, see picture.
Processing time does not include the day of submission, weekends and public holidays and if they request additional documentation, the processing time resets.
if I were you I would sell stocks and transfer it to your bank account to meet the requirement of 500k in a personal bank account, then submit 6 month of bank statements showing the current balance over 500k. They might reject it, but what do you have to loose? If rejected, you keep the money in your bank account and re-apply at another embassy. Search in this group to find an embassy that approves the money to be in the account less time. There are some embassies that appove applications as long as the current balance is over 500k.
There IS a rule that you should remaim in the country where you apply during the processing time!
And, since they requested more documents on the 27th, the processing time reset, meaning today is the 3rd day of the processing time (it has not been 6 working days).
Further more, you write "visa on arrival" - do you really mean VOA or do you mean visa exemption? Visa on Arrival is an actual 15 days visa, while the other is visa free... So do you plan to plan to apply for a visa at the border while you have another visa being processed?!
I advise you to stay until your DTV is approved. Of course only you can decide wether your need to be in Bangkok during the weekend is worth risking your DTV-application being rejected.
