Oh hell.... i know, answers seem to change by the day, or even by the hour of late :(. It sounded to me like a Thai who spoke pretty good English, but i can't be sure. Anyone else out there got any re-confirming evidence ??

Just called Phuket town immigration to ask about the status of "visa under consideration" (mine says must report back April 24th). I was told that I was OK until April 30th, so this would seem to be v good news for those of us in Phuket w/ "under consideration" stamps.

Regulations are changing so fast it is a little hard to be "organised". Getting factual info on what is possible and what is not is also very difficult. I am thankful for this great page for sharing such info and helping each other out. Right or wrong, organised or not - i am posting in the hope that my experience might help other people who may be under the same misunderstandings of the rules.

- thanks so much for coordinating this invaluable resource! I have one question i'm hoping you might know; you say a Thai bank account in own name only. Uh-oh. My partner and I have a shared bank account....and we are both hoping to apply for retirement visas. Separately (ie 800,000 baht each). Is this acceptable for a couple?
