Depends on the embassy you are applying with. Some are ok with just the minimum of 500K, others want to see 500k per child.

There is not anything you can do for your rejected application. The positive is you know why you were rejected which helps a lot with your reapplication. Mistakes with names are common, important to triple check after uploading passport info and before submitting that names match.
