that would be good. It is a bit unfortunate that being a savy saver has made her application more complicated. Hopefully we will get an update soon.

I think the concern came from the fact that my partner has most of her finances in term deposits rather than a standard bank account. She has way more money than the required amount, but the array of term deposit accounts I think was confusing to them. She also works in TV and film whilst I work as a civil engineer so my job is much more mainstream and easier to understand. Overall I think they found her confusing. The interview was okayish, I think she won them over in the end, but many questions were asked.

we probably had the wrong expectations, from what we read we were expecting a quick turnaround. We both applied on the 2nd December, submitted additional documents on the 3rd. I got mine approved on the 8th whilst my partner got a request for an interview the same day for the 10th. I think a national holiday on the Friday probably slowed things down.

If English isn't your first language maybe an agency would help you with the application. Also, how is the presentation with your supporting documents? I did cover letter explaining every support document. I got approved in Taiwan after one request for more documents.
