I went in and did both tm day today, they refused to do the residency certificate specifically because of DTV - said I needed a long term/work visa

Just be aware that when you do chargbacks against a company like Google they close your accounts. Not sure what the consequences of doing that to a country you might want to visit again in the future may be

for me (Australian) it took about 5 minutes to sign up. They even send you a debit card (arrives in two days if you're in Thailand/lose your card there). The card gives pretty good international transfer rates, I use it for all my ATM withdrawals.

I know people from the UK, EU, and US with the card too, just don't know what it's like for everywhere else

If you get a Wise account or similar you can deposit directly into any Thai bank account
