 thanks for the detailed responses, I appreciate it. I'm going to Bangkok and planning to cross at the Friendship Bridge. First taking a bus to Nong Khai. Then take an overnight bus to Bangkok, or go to Udon Thani then fly, not sure yet. Probably spend a day in each town to explore a bit👍🏻

 thanks for the reply. Yes I've been to the kingdom 5 times now. I thought I read that you need to arrive by air when you first enter with the dtv, but then couldn't find anything specifying when tried to confirm.
