Ignorance is not a bliss .. Verified by Thai tax accountant, a 35% tax will be levied on all foreign income If the recipient has lived within the borders of Thailand over 180 days commencing January 1, 2024. Countries with Thai tax treaties could be exempt, if income already taxed. If the recipient is listed as home country "Non- Resident" for tax purposes, he/she has to pay eventually. This applies equally to nationals and foreigners alike.

Why Thailand ? 3 month visa available in Vietnam, that is renewable and extendable .Thailand is in a political turmoil, corrupt from top to bottom, equal to Mexico with farangs everywhere corrupting the ethnicity of the nation and aiding in sky-high rental and cost of living. The country is divided along age and political lines, fueled by greed and incompetence and has become one of the saddest nations in SE Asia. There are many other alternatives.
