Laurie Howells bit silly to go to the bank and get cash out to pay for a motorbike in a shop, so that the shop owner has to go to the bank again to make a deposit.

Completely unnecessary nowadays where everything is electronic. (and I’m a cash man)

Personally I never had any issues with Bangkok Bank. So far anyway.

Kasikorn is just giving me grief though. My spending limit is 50k per day. Which ain’t much really if you want to buy something somewhat more expensive (think car or bike)

My requests to raise that limit keep getting answered with a standard answer that “with my spending habits it’s high enough”…

It’s making me mad! 😡

Never any issues with Bangkok Bank. Got another account with Kasikorn though and I’m ready to close that. Very frustrating to be with them. I can withdraw 20k daily and my limit for transfers is 50k. Not enough for a first grade student I’d say. But when I apply for a higher limit K’bank says that THEY think it’s enough. Despite me asking for a higher limit repeatedly.

If they would pay me I wouldn’t live in that corrupt shithole of a country. Sorry.

Andreas Mueller thanks for the addition. I didn’t know the exact requirements for a Non-O visa.

My point is still valid though that there is not such thing as a retirement visa. And that one cannot apply for that overseas.

Jeff Stephens I believe that’s what it takes yes. And that visa has its own set of rules. Definitely not exactly like the retirement extension.

It’s an extension. You will need to apply for the appropriate visa in your home country. Then get a retirement EXTENSION here in Thailand.

For that you need the 800k.

As far as I’m aware there is no such visa that requires 800.000 Baht initially.
