Either get a 60 day tourist visa in Australia which will give you 90 days stay in Thailand (60 plus 30) or visa exempt for total of 30

plus 30 day extension. If you go 60 day visa they won’t hold you to the exact flight you enter in the system. There should be an entry on the form where you put expected day of arrival. Your visa will be valid from this date and you will normally have 90 days in which to enter Thailand on it.

if he’s a Canadian passport holder, he can get an affidavit of income from the Canadian embassy.

Did you get a print out of the requirements for applying for the non O there ? My experience is it’s always best to get it in writing…

You’ll need the 800k baht seasoned in your Thai bank account 2 months before you apply for your yearly retirement extension. It’s not possible to do the 65k for the first retirement extension as you won’t have had 12 monthly payments of 65k going into your Thai bank account.

Assume you will apply for non o retirement ? Better do it online with Thai embassy in London. Despite some comments above, it’s a straightforward process. Once you land in Thailand, you then have 90 days to get your ducks in a row with bank accounts and seasoning of the 800k baht for the one year extension.

If they follow the rules, they’ll be asking for a UK police check as presumably, you’re not resident in Thailand. You can do it online and don’t need a UK address.

Not enough information. Is he on visa or extension? Is this his first extension or later extensions? What’s his nationality ? Is he from a country that allows his embassy to provide an affadavit of pension income ? On what financial basis is he wanting to get a one year extension?

no. I even showed him the previous 12 months monthly transfers with FTT against each transfer. To be honest I think he was confused about the affidavit of income (which some embassies provide) and the 12 monthly proof of funds transfer method.
