, the 800k needs to be in your account 2 months before applying for an annual extension - every time. The rest of the year a balance of nothing less than 400k must be in your account.

, also, you really need to be careful about the monthly transfers. They need to happen EVERY month on more or less the same day a month. Otherwise, they might reject it. The 800k deposit is once a year, and then you can even use the 400k for living during the year. Easy and no worry.

, no reason to worry about that unless Sally has plans to continue working as a volunteer. The O-A also requires 800,000 THB unless you have income to show in your home country.

, better to go get a Non-O for retirement at Immigration without the need for health insurance.

It shouldn't be an issue to ask for an extension for the reason of retirement if you do comply with the requirements. It shouldn't neither be a real problem to "convert" to a new Non-O for retirement, again if you comply. However, on a retirement visa, you are not allowed to work not either as a volunteer, and they might check on you if you go to Immigration with a Non-O based on volunteering as they might suspect you trying to avoid the strict rules for getting or extending a volunteer visa...

, I only tried the land borders, but others advised they had no issues doing it by plane and staying out one night. The Cambodian land borders became notorious difficult during 2019 and onwards. Poi Pet wouldn't let me in at all. Two other border stations stamped me in for only one month like I was on a visa exemption. Then I had to go to Immigration to get it corrected. Immigration on the other hand wouldn't cancel my visa and let me go straight to an extension. I had actually shown 400,000 THB to get my Non-O ME, but no one believed me...

, from what I have heard and experienced myself is advisable not to use the Cambodian land borders for the 90-Day border run. Preferably do the bouncing by plane and stay out one night.

, yes, I know about the Savannakhet trick. Actually, the specific reason why I am not using Non-O Multiple Entry any longer as the border stations didn't believe I had shown money for my Non-O ME and said I was "misusing" the visa system...

, true, but some years ago the 90-Day Non-O for marriage had no financial requirement but only the 1-Year Non-O. As you say, if you are going for an extension then you will have to meet the financial requirements then anyway. It limits how long a visa you can get when married but no money...
