Hari BO not really sure what that even means, a bit like your name, so not to be taken seriously. But I have not given anyone any advice. It’s their choice what they do, so wind your neck in sour tang boy.

Peter Tulloch totally 100% agree with that, I feel the same way. But I refuse to look down on people that are willing to take that risk. It’s their choice, and to say they are causing issues for others is pure fantasy. It’s the border run people that are doing that.

Peter Tulloch I am not in that situation luckily but I don’t agree. If you are willing to take the risk then why not. The 800k you have to put in an account if largely dead anyway so not having it doesn’t mean anything. I have one friend that lost all his capital through business issues and a divorce. He doesn’t have the 800k but has a great pension so went the agency route. He lives here very well, and it is factually wrong to say he doesn’t contribute to the ‘local economy’. In fact I would take a bet he spends more than the person which made that comment, which is why, IMO that person is an arrogant di*k.

Allan Repp must be tough being so much better than everyone else and being able to judge them. I personally wouldn’t do it that way but so what if others do. To look down on them that way is frankly arrogant and pathetic.

CoolBunny_7244 loads of people stay here without ‘meeting the requirements’, predominantly by using an agent. That last sentence is totally unnecessary unless you are one of those bored and bitter expats

you misunderstand what remittance is, but that has always been clear when you say you live here without remitting. The money ends up in a Thai bank account, irrespective of the mechanism used to get it there. That is remittance. Same with cash. Doesn’t mean you have a tax liability and many factors will define that (DTAs etc) but it is remittance nonetheless and you are deluded if you think otherwise.

I have read a number of comments on this thread. You seem to just want to have an argument with everyone. It is a bit pathetic, especially when you call people trolls who disagree with you, including Robert, whom if you read enough content in this group you would know is one of the more knowledgeable and calm members. People, including you, tend to interpret what they read, and then look for supporting evidence (including AI) that supports the answer they are looking for. That is all you are doing here. Others, the more sensible ones, rely and stick to official wordings, that of course can be interpreted differently. Personally I don't think there is a clear answer to this, but you can find content that supports either side. So you need to make your own judgement, like a grown up, and stop arguing with everyone, and calling them trolls. You come across like a 5 year old in the playground. Have a great day!

Dave Allen yes there is. There is a 60 day tourist visa. This is an advice group, not everyone knows the right terminology (or like you what visas are available!) 🤡
