Some people have set up a "wise" account before they leave their country. Then they transfer the money into that and when the account is opened add the money to the account via wise and it appears within hours. I have used it after i opened mine appeared within hours but was smaller amount and significantly less fees. I set up my kasikorn account with 1000 baht deposit only to open it.

that is beyond my limited experience. I just did non-o retirement. I have lived in asia for over half my life and i jokingly have PTSD from paperwork and form filling. I have also applied for visas for western nations for my family. Which are even more paperwork. But do a search and there is a youtube vid on non-oa by learned individuals.

Watch this video. You can prep your whole application before. Getting to laos and then just add a pdf of your visa stamp and boarding pass to prove you are there. I did mine in Cambodia. There is not requirement for Health Insurance or medical certificate for a Non-O retirement, but there is for a Non-OA I think.

You make one PDF document with multiple pages containing last 3 months bank statements and anything else you like and upload it. Once as proof of

If you already have the money in the bank for two months you can apply for a 1 year extension for 1900 baht. Then you can get a reentery permit and leave after 1 more month and come back anytime within that one year visa.. So just get a 1 year extension otherwise you have to start with a 90 day no O again

That was my biggest issue. The thai embassy in Cambodia website says 10 business days. I allowed 3 weeks. Mine took 13 business days but there were public holidays. I had a return flight booked but as it came to looking uncertain i moved that flight to the 30 day mark. And of course visa came through the day after that :). So if i did it again would just book the 30 day after flight and enjoy my retirement. Now you also have to wonder what about impending border dispute escalation? So i planned this border bounce a long time ago and had the ticket to siem reap to get my visa exemption. Then in first 60 days in Thailand i studied this process and decided i would give 90 day non o retirement a shot. It has worked out. Next time i would pick another place i would like to stay for a month

there are a few places where people were killed and about the war. Landmine museum. Appopo mine sniffing bush rats. Killing fields monastery museum. War museum. Then national angkor museum for angkor. Got a 7 day pass for angkor area and a 7 day rental of a great electric scooter. There is also a khmer cultural center with a library. Good food available. A really pleasant town.
