You don't need to worry about 1 day overstay. You won't be charged 500 baht for a 1 day overstay in Suvarnabhumi Airport. And the overstay stamp is no big deal. Those who think an overstay stamp can be a problem are clueless. In the list of all potential reason to be denied a visa or entry in Thailand, overstay stamp is very far down the list.

There no such thing as "kids on overstay". Under 15 years old you can stay in Thailand without any issue.

The fountain of all visa related knowledge is Tod Daniels, but to answer your question, the myth of denial due to overstay is an old foreigner myth that they use to fear monger and patronize younger people. It's not a thing.

I was almost alone every time I crossed that border. Buses don't go there from BKK. Or do you mean the city rather than the border?

Chong Chom is a very easy border to bounce from. Foreigners don't go there often so you don't wait in line ever and they don't ask any question. I can even cross that border with my dogs no question ask.

Are you sure you are not confusing with Multi Entry Non O? There is no proof of funds for tourist visa (unless extremely frequent). I did a single entry Non O in Savannakhet 3 weeks ago and had to show almost nothing, and nobody that day had bank statement for their tourist visa.

You mean the yearly extension that you need to report every 90 days. But you can report online, it take 5 min, no need to drive anywhere except on your first report (any 2nd, 3nd, etc, can do online).
