To volunteer in Thailand for longer than 30 days, you'll need a Non-Immigrant O visa (Volunteer). You can't legally volunteer on a retirement visa

 Tax status has nothing to do with your 1 year extension. Immigration require the 800K to be in a Thai bank account for the appropriate time before and after the extension

 If you try do it on the Monday after it's expired then you will have to start again. Our bank (KBank) issues the statements on the same day

Best to do it before. Some immigration offices allow up to 45 days before. Don’t let your extension lapse or you’ll have to start again
