so I'm on this site now and it says the max stay is 90 days. Can you make an extension after 90 days? It doesn't indicate that on the Thai embassy website

Yeah I was doing the same thing and I just used a retirement visa. It was a bit annoying because you needed to get criminal background checks and you needed the insurance etc. But it is doable. I'm always hoping that Thailand will create a snowbird Visa which would allow retirees to Winter in Thailand. They've talked about it in the past but so far no luck

i usually get travel insurance for the length of time i am here (usually six months) which has much better coverage than the required insurance i would need to get.

it's sad that they still do not know. I came in on an OA that was issued prior to the deadline and was asked about insurance. Explained I didn't need it and they let me in

perhaps someone has a question as to what insurance I had just in case I was required. Maybe they want to know if I spoke Thai to them which definitely helped. I have no idea. Really , I'm happy to help. If a thread becomes unweildy, than close it. The question is why close it at all

I know. I posted my experience at the Suvarnabhumi and it was immediately closed before I could answer any potential questions. I'm glad to answer any

I flew in yesterday with an OA visa from before Oct 31. Woman asked about insurance but the IO next to her said I don't need it

I still don't get the O visa. In the United States an O visa is only for people who are married to a Thai or visiting Thai kids. Am I wrong in this assessment?
