Robert you closed commenting on a post when we are waiting for Tod to translate the writing on a visa stamp. This O-A visa/ insurance topic is very relevant to many of us returning soon. We need to see, try to understand others real time experiences.

Respectfully, please don’t be so quick to close commenting.

you can delete non relevant posts.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around concerns within the expat community regarding the closure of comments on posts related to the O-A visa and health insurance. Several users expressed frustration, stating that closing comments limits the sharing of real-time experiences and vital information. They highlighted the need for open discussions, especially pertaining to varying insurance requirements and the interpretation of visa regulations, which often lead to recurring questions that could be clarified through community interaction.

okay, we close posts on this group once someone gets the correct answer to their question to stop well meaning (yet mostly clueless people) from giving BAD information. We also close posts for people who ask questions that no one can answer, like; "will I get in to thailand without an problems?", OR will I get a visa from xxx consulate?" Those are subjective questions and have no real answer.

We also close questions about this O-A insurance conundrum, because there is no set pattern or protocol that immigration officers are following when asking for proof of insurance for O-A visa holders.

Because the same questions are asked over and over again and no one reviews the specific pinned topics or previous posts on the same subject. ;) and then there are 50 comments with one guy saying he didn't need insurance and another guy saying he did. No wonder the comments get closed pretty quick ;)

has been unable to respond ....to the request posted by Robert Lagas..

"And before it all start again as we already see. Tod Daniels can you shine a light on the Thai text and until that time I close the comments. There has been discussion enough about health insurance policies and the fact that this insurance is only a requirement on the Non Immigrant O-A or O-X visa."

I know. I posted my experience at the Suvarnabhumi and it was immediately closed before I could answer any potential questions. I'm glad to answer any

Adam Nash thank you. The post is open for all to question or comment.

Reality is that there still is NO consistency in actions taken upon arrivals into Thailand. That is why we close commenting vs allowing many questions based largely on rumor and hearsay.

You stated a most helpful fact.

Thanks again.

perhaps someone has a question as to what insurance I had just in case I was required. Maybe they want to know if I spoke Thai to them which definitely helped. I have no idea. Really , I'm happy to help. If a thread becomes unweildy, than close it. The question is why close it at all

Adam Nash and what more is there to be said from your post?

"Arrived today at Suvarnabhumi on an OA visa I received before Oct 31 Immigration asked if I had insurance but the officer next to her said I did not need due to getting the visa before the deadline"
