thanks, normal 90 day visa (where you can stay for 60 days which really confused me to start with) my intention is to extend then any for a retirement visa.
the whole point was that, I assumed they could not afford to pay a teacher and I could offer my time for free. Benefit the children, perhaps help me learn some Thai language skills too and mix with my local community and make friends. Win - win I thought, but it doesn't seem that easy.
Thank you all. I think I may stay the first couple of months with friends in Surin province on my tourist visa then move elsewhere to a larger town. Overall, transport, getting about, meeting people as well as getting to a college/University would be easier.
if you can't be sensible, why bother to reply. Obviously I have. I have even asked my friends who live there and they didn't know either. I usually find this group useful, it saddens me that, today, this was not the case.
on a serious note, this sort of thing could be perfect. Whats is it called? How much does it cost to buy/run? Insurance costs? Can you get something similar but without the open-top truck on the back?
