TLDR : Answer Summary
The post asks about the availability of Thai language study courses in Surin province for the ED student visa. Comments mention limited options in Surin, suggesting that enrolling in a university may be a potential avenue. Some respondents recommend checking larger cities like Bangkok for more options, as in-person attendance is generally required for visa eligibility.

Thank you all. I think I may stay the first couple of months with friends in Surin province on my tourist visa then move elsewhere to a larger town. Overall, transport, getting about, meeting people as well as getting to a college/University would be easier.

In Surin, basically no. But MAYBE you can enroll as a full time student at one of the universities and study thai and get the educational visa. Other than that you are probably going to take class in Bangkok. some schools in Bangkok will let you take classes online BUT getting a visa without regular in person visits to the classroom isn’t so easy anymore. Why are you moving to Surin in the first place?

I live in Surin and will probably do a language course some time soon.
if you can't be sensible, why bother to reply. Obviously I have. I have even asked my friends who live there and they didn't know either. I usually find this group useful, it saddens me that, today, this was not the case.
