If you still have time to apply a 90 day tourist visa from your country before coming in Thailand, I may say it’s hassle free option and you can enjoy the holidays fully without being bothered about when is the appropriate time for asking for the extension.

The extension is not free of charge. It costs THB1900 plus proof of stay such as hotel booking or rental agreement. Although the process & time spent at immigration office can be painless, you still need to make a trip there…

Recommended 10 working days from the 60 days expire.

We arrived in Bangkok on 25th September. Our first 60 days expire on 23rd November. We went to Immigration with required documents on 10th November. It took us about one hour to get the 30 day extension stamped.

We’re allowed staying in the Kingdom within 23rd December.
