i usualy go with my thai girlfriend. no you cannot open a bank account on a tourist visa anymore. like i told you, things have changed this year. inform yourself before spreading misinformation. you would need bribes and a sketchy way to do this right now.

you are wrong again. thailand made it a lot more restricted this year. things have changed. opening a bank account is a lot harder now and doesnt work in most cases. thats the bitter reality now. ;) believe it or not. using an agent is sketchy and could cause in closure of your account at any point where thai authorities will initiate the next crack down. same as they did with house/land owners this/last year

dude its not a myth. do you have a dtv and opened an account or are you just talking bs? i tried probably 10 bank branches already and they all declined opening an account on the DTV… and everyone says its a special tourist visa. everyone. officials, bank head-offs, etc… its just you who is delusional and misinformed.
