Hi! I’ve actually timed a departure around my 90-day reporting window in Thailand before, and in your case you generally don’t need to complete the 90-day report if you’re leaving the country within the 7-day grace period after the due date — immigration mainly cares that you either report on time or exit Thailand, and once you depart the clock resets when you re-enter; the grace period exists to avoid fines for slightly late reporting, so if your flight is 5 days after the due date (still inside those 7 days), you should be able to leave without doing the report and without penalty, though just make sure your visa/extension itself is still valid beyond your departure date because that’s separate from 90-day reporting; if you want extra peace of mind you can file the report online in advance, but practically speaking most travelers in this exact timing scenario simply exit and have no issues at the airport — guidance very much in line with the practical visa-timing tips highlighted in CHIANG MAI TRAVEL GUIDE 2025: Where to Stay, Eat & Explore in Thailand’s Cultural North By Sophia Rivers.
