why would I be surprised by the amount of people you 'know' in my 30 years experience of Thailand I've met more than enough no marks who wed bar girls, meet a few 'influential' folks up in whatever Isaan shithole their wife drags them off to, then they think they're 'well connected ' or on the cusp of becoming royalty.
