even if I only have half of the paperwork (passport, letter from company and work permit cancellation slip)? As work don't seem to be willing to provide me with all the other requirements I have just been informed about by immigration (and in fairness not things that I had on me last time I left my work).

hey Todd, thanks for this. But will this affect me getting back in again if i have an extension denied as I will be doing a quick flight out and coming back in again on a visa exempt entry as I need to organise time for the cat to be sorted for quarantine that can't be done in a week so need a 30 day tourist visa to sort before leaving Thailand. But if I can do both, that would be ideal.

work have all the files and will be delivering them to me on the Friday not before so I will be heading there on my last day unfortunately. So it seems that I will need to book a flight out for that evening and come return on an exempt visa entry to gain enough time to pack up and sort kitty out! :) in case I have any issues with the extension of stay application which i think I might do as I will only be turning up with half of the required forms....

I should also add that they have said I would need to leave by midnight the same day, so it's not 24 hours notice exactly just the same day.......

Tod Daniels I just contacted the immigration office in regards to the forms I need to bring to cancel my Extension of Stay and it's a long list that I don't think my work have prepared for so should be interesting.... they have requested the items we all talk about and that I have used before; your passort, Letter from the company stating you last official working date and the cancellation slip of work permit but they also have requested the Company of Partnership registration certificate, ID Card / Passport of the authoriser of the company and Income tax certificate from the revenues department.....

- sorry one more thing. In terms of documents the only documents i need to cancel are the work permit cancellation receipt and the letter from work confirming my job is finished? No other documents? No Tax report etc? Also for the 7 day extension what documents will I need for that? Huge thanks!

thanks Tod. My current work are cancelling my work permit and sending the work permit cancellation slip to me on Friday and as soon as I get I am heading to immigration. The letter you mention, is that just the resignation letter which has my final work date? They are talking about tax reports and that’s where they think the issues will arise as my last official day is this Friday but tax report shows my last pay roll as April 23....hence why they think I will have issues with immigration and charged as an overstay.

Hi Tod - I am in the same position in that I have resigned from my work (I have an extension of stay) - I am on gardening leave until 1st June upon which they will cancel my work permit and extension of stay. Unfortunately work have also informed me that they have put the last day for tax / payroll on the day I resigned not the day I finished working on gardening leave and now say they can't change it and that i might have issues as an 'overstay' based on the tax report date and the cancellation dates not being the same. Do you know if the tax report is a requirement when I go to get my extension of stay cancelled and if deemed as an overstay, I take it I won't be granted the 7 day extension? Any help would be gratefully received.
