That's a big + for refund policy..but how long they got? I'm looking at 1 yr minimum for my Emirates one..but it was headed for EU..think they have laws there too..I'll look into it..
You're strategy is a good one against cancellations for sure tho. But I'd suggest an early start, and a thick wallet 😉 .
DON'T BUY THROUGH EXPEDIA!!! Not right now anyways! Still waiting for confirmation of airline credit I was promised in March after flight canceled. They've been absolutely impossible to get a hold of, call center "overloaded" any email I get back says they're waiting for the airline to confirm T's & C's b4 they can issue anything.. I contacted the airline that week and got the info straight away, but since I booked with agent, voucher/refund needs to b processed by said agent...its been 4 mths...🤬🤬. But turns out I couldn't use voucher anyway since Emirates not flying here yet. So I'll deal with them when I'm out of here and can afford to be put on hold long distance for hrs....
My advice is book directly with the airline, especially with current cancellation rates, or you won't see the end of it.
As for which airlines fly to LAX, any airline will gladly take your money even if they're well aware at time of booking that flight is likely to cancel.
I been had this way too. Got 3K tied up with various airlines/agents for cancelled flights in multiple attempts to leave here last 4 mths...
So..Google flights is a good place to start but be sure to cross check with and monitor BKK arrival/departures. Either on their page or better flightradar24.com You may also be able to get a list from your embassy, but cross check that too (the one I got from my consulate was already outdated and turned out half the airlines weren't running..yet still taking bookings, but that was back in april)..I learned this the hard way.
my stance exactly. Already there's only a handful of the "usual" airlines flying in/out. And those have fewer flights scheduled then b4. Which they may or may not be allowed to fly jam packed for sanitary reasons (if so, not looking forward to 10+hrs in one). But reality is, so many are still getting canceled. No way there'll be enough seats to go around before the 31st...
