thnx Robert, that would be ideal to do the Myanmar border run as it closest but there was a case of a Korean denied but maybe for some other reason...

That is great, cause I wouldn't have to go far from Pai where I am staying. Can do my first extension and then one more visa run. What about my partner? Can he cross the border by land and come back same day? He is Brazilian.

If I want to get 60 day visa in Kuala can I do it if my last 60 day visa was obtained in Penang? They were also strict about having a flight from Thailand which I didn't have and told me that next time I need to have a flight booked. Is it also a rule in Kuala?

So our best option is to fly and I can apply for another 60 days visa in a Thai embassy. Is it ok to apply in Kuala if previously I applied in Penang? Thanks again for your advice.

Thanks for answering Tod, I know as I did one there, one in Vientiane and one in Penang :) We crossed the border before by land from Shianoukville to Bkk with no problems... but if they don't give 90 days they decreased it to 60, 30 or just refuse the entry by land ?
