How did you and your wife get your DTV visa approved in Nigeria?

So after approval one prints out the email and is ready to go. Are there any time limits to pay attention to? E.g. one gets the visa approved on March 1st and in the application had stated arrival date April 1st. Can you travel earlier or later than April 1st?
