yes if it is in thailand. They will still want to see Pay receipts or deposits into your account. Probably your income tax too.

there’s nothing new or unusual about the 2 step process itself. Marriage & Dependent extensions have worked this way for the last 10 years that I’ve been doing them.

Unless you’re planning to leave thailand find a new job first. Then go to immigration and transfer letter.

If you cancel your work permit your visa ends. Only way to get a new one is outside of thailand which is not feasible given the current situation.
