Didn't have to show any funds in a thai bank account or from home country. When I did it in HCMC previously, same, didn’t have to show funds.

I did it in Savannakhet in August and quick and easy there too. Cheaper as well.

Paperwork. Depends on what Visa you are applying for determines what documents you need to give them. Check the thai embassy website in what country you are going to submit them.

Thai Consulate in Savannakhet very easy & no appointment required.

Apply in the morning and then pick up the next afternoon.
