Flew oct 23 out of JFK on repatriation flight. No problems or delays. Had a few hours in Doha. No problems there. But they are very strict with your paperwork....COVID test has to have your name on it, ASQ, everything. Middle seats blocked on flight from Doha to Bkk.
What kind of visa are you trying to get? I am not familiar with all the different ones. I came over with my Thai wife so I did the spouse of Thai national. All I needed was a COE, not an extensive examination.
UW medicine virtual clinic. $49 done online via cam. Put that you are in Oregon. Can’t remember docs name but will check and add later. Got the cert in about 10 minutes. Was accepted just fine. Doc is John Kang. Just a few questions and you have your cert. does for many Thais and spouses. You have to make an account on the app after you download it.
You only need to have a policy that covers the time you are in Thailand. I got mine starting the day I arrived and ends a day after I leave. 2 months total. Don’t get more than you need. I am out of ASQ Saturday
That's interesting. If you read the requirements for visas on the consulate website, at least if you are a spouse of a Thai national, you have to have proof of purchased plane ticket, proof of paid ASQ hotel and other info before you are told to mail your passport in with some repetitive documents and then are notified they are mailing the visa. Mine is coming from the DC consulate in the mail tomorrow and then I still have to load a copy of the visa to them and then they send the COE document I need. A lot of hoops to jump through. They could make it easier but why do that?
