What affordable health insurance options meet the requirements for a Non-Immigrant O multiple entry visa in Thailand?

I'm in the process of applying for Non-immigrant O visa multiple entry based on marriage with a Thai. Apparently I need to hold insurance covering minimum USD 100.000,- and valid for an entire year regardless that I rarely go home for more than 6 weeks. (got to mention here that I already have a travel insurance covering unlimited, but it's only valid for 60 days per trip)

Does anyone know of an affordable insurance that fulfill the requirements for obtaining Non O multiple entry. I don't care to much about the coverage since I already have insurance that covers what I need but not adequate for the application.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking affordable health insurance that satisfies the requirement of a minimum coverage of USD 100,000 for obtaining a Non-Immigrant O multiple entry visa based on marriage to a Thai citizen. There are varying opinions in the comments regarding health insurance requirements for the Non-O visa, with some stating no insurance is necessary apart from COVID insurance for entry and others confirming the USD 100,000 coverage requirement. Additionally, suggestions for insurers such as Pacific Cross Health Insurance are mentioned, along with discussions about the challenges of the insurance requirements based on the applicant's residency and travel history.

Where are you applying from? There's no insurance requirement for the Non Imm O based on marriage in the UK, however there's no multi entry, only single entry.

Applying online, evisa. Even single entry Non im O requires 100.000 usd insurance

Fair enough. But when I fill in the online application it asks me to upload insurance covering minimum USD 100.00. I would never enter Thailand without insurance but buying insurance that covers a full year is not worth it for me. I live in Thailand but work abroad. Normal rotation is 8 and 4 so thats the idea of having Non O multiple entry. I have travel insurance that covers more than adequate already but only up to 60 days at a time.

Not many Embassys/Consulates sell the multi entry Non Imm O. Savannakhet, Laos and HCMC, Vietnam used to before Covid but those were the only two I know that did

Not from the UK, only requirement was the covid insurance for the Thai Pass, not for the visa.

I have a Non O visa based on marriage to a Thai and there is no requirement for health insurance, other than Covid insurance, if I leave and return to Thailand, as was the case in May this year, after spending three months in Australia.

@Alan ******
since switching to the evisa application process most embassies require insurance for the non O. Not required if applying in country or extensions off one.

If you’re only home for a few weeks at a time, why bother with a non O at all? Enter visa exempt, get an extension and then if needed do a “Thai family” extension. You’ll only need cover for the initial entry and your existing policy may cover that.

it's my impression in regards to renewing drivers license dealing with my Thai Bank etc that having non immigrant makes life a bit easier. It's never been a problem getting non o before but since my last visa they just added this requirement

So should I enter on visa exempt and then apply for non o, or rather get tv and the change when in Thailand?
Stuart *********
@Morten **************
either or. Depends on how many days you’ll think you’ll stay. TR gives you 60+30, exempt is 30+30. You’ll need 21 days left on a valid stamp applying for a non O in country.

worth pointing out there are financial implications getting an in country Non-O. You need to transfer into Thailand 800k from overseas, and for extension it can never drop below 400k

@John *********
that's for retirement. For marriage it is only 400k at time of application. It needs to be seasoned for 2 months when applying for the 1 year extension. After that it can go to zero and be fine.
Stuart *********
@John *********
not for a marriage reason. 400k (doesn’t need to be from overseas) and no requirement to keep it once you have the extension.

@Stuart ********
fair enough but still a financial requirement.

Just to make sure I understand you right. When you write "in country" do you then mean in Thailand?
Stuart *********
@Morten **************
yes. You can apply for a non O in Thailand.
Stuart *********
@Morten **************
shouldn’t be an issue with your bank or driving licence renewal. If it is apply for one in country.

When they switched to the evisa system they inserted the insurance requirement. That’s not the case for a non O in country or extensions off of one.
