Hello!

I believe I need to show 20,000 baht in my account when applying for a Non B Visa One Year Extension.

Does anyone know if this has to have any other qualifiers, like how long the amount has been in the account or where it came from? Or is a simple bank balance sufficient?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Non-B Visa One-Year Extension in Thailand, it appears that showing a bank balance of 20,000 baht may not be necessary for all cases. Some responses indicate that other documentation like pay stubs and tax receipts may suffice, especially if the extension is employment-based. It is advised to check with the local Immigration Office for the comprehensive list of requirements, as the local guidelines may differ from general expectations.

This was my advice yesterday: Be aware that the list of requirements is much longer at your local Immigration Office than the longest list you could find at a Thai Consulate. I suggest you visit Immigration Office asap and ask the hand out to see if you can meet all these requirements. Now reading again a question that you think you need, sound simple to me you did not follow the advice and visit the Immigration Office for the hand out. Please follow the advice, it makes your life so much more easy to exactly know what you need than to think what ever documents is also needed.

Are you applying for a yearly extension at the immigration office based on employment? There is no requirement to show any money in the bank, you show your pay stubs, social security deductions and tax receipts
