Is there any minimum on an a renewal extension for a marriage Visa ? After it’s granted you’ll need to have 400,000 baht in your bank account for 2 months before you apply for the next extension. So during that 12 month period spending down the amount should not cause a problem?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing a Marriage Visa in Thailand, there is no minimum balance requirement as long as you maintain 400,000 baht in your bank account for two months prior to your extension application. Different immigration offices may have varied interpretations; some might request you to keep the money during the 30-day consideration period, while in certain areas like Prachinburi, they might want you to hold the funds for an additional three months after the extension is granted. However, this specific requirement typically applies only to retirement visa extensions, not marriage extensions.

Depends on where you are, Prachinburi want you to keep the money in the bank for 3 months after the ext is given, they check on the next extension, there probably an exeception.

that requirement is ONLY for extensions based on retirement NOT on marriage :/ so if you're being told that by an immigration officer for a marriage extension you're being fed a line of b/s :O .

Just make sure its topped up two months to 400,000 before next extension..

nope doesn't cause any problem at all.

Check with your immigration office though because some of them require you keep the 400K baht in the bank during the 30 day under consideration period (before you go back to get the year inked in) too.

So there is always a consideration period each year for extensions? I guess that’s why they say come in 45 days before the extension expires.
