For the hand drawn map of my Bangkok address required by Immigration Visa Extension Office, how zoomed out should it be? Should the drawing be overview of about 1 kilometer of surrounding area or be even more zoomed in?

I just arrived Bangkok. My visa ends tomorrow but l was told l needed Bangkok address in order to extend. I told them l don't have since l just arrived. They insisted l had to have one or else they would not extend.

A friendly lady officer adviced me to simply check into any cheap hotel get the hotel to sign a form l was given stating l stay there and submit that ! This sounds absurd to me and l was wondering if this is normal practice and if anyone has any experience with this or advice.
