What are the best flexible educational programs for a long-term education visa (DTV) in Thailand, considering a full-time remote job?

Hi! I work remote, and am planning to get the DTV, but my employer keeps laying people off. I don’t want my salary AND my living situation to be based on the same unreliable employer for the next 5 years. If I was to get a 5 year education DTV, what education programs can I get into that have a low hourly requirement, and ideally a flexible schedule? I would need to plan it around working full time.

Thank you! I’d love any info you have.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about obtaining a long-term education visa (DTV) while working remotely. They are concerned about the reliability of their employer and wish to pursue educational programs with low hourly requirements and flexible schedules that can accommodate full-time work. A commenter clarifies that there is no specific 'education DTV' but mentions the education visa and suggests that the DTV, once issued, has no further checks regarding employment status.

Getting laid off would have no affect on a workcation DTV visa. Once the visa is issued, it's valid for 5 years. There are no further checks. You just would not be able to get an extension in Thailand, and instead would need to leave and return at least once every 180 days to get a new stamp.

There is no "education" DTV. There is an education visa, and a soft power DTV.

I’ve heard that, but I also heard that they may make it more strict for remote work DTV holders in the near future. Im hoping for a soft power 5 year DTV, wondering what options have flexible hours, and what the monthly hourly requirement it is. It would be great if you have any programs in mind. Thanks!

if you get the DTV now any changes made in the future don't affect you for the five years your DTV is valid for. Understanding this might make your decision easier. The biggest changes coming are in relation to the soft power category as that has the most abuse, not the workation category.

my friends have a soft power DTV with Muay Thai classes. They can choose when they want to do their class. That could probably work around your working hours.

they might do all sorts of things, but then again they may not

no body knows what they might do with DTV's in the future. The soft power DTV that seems to be the most favoured in the muay thai training typically you would need a course for 6 months or at least confirmation that you have signed up from an approved muay thai gym, others have been medical treatments ( more than one). These have ben successful in gaining a 5 year DTV
